Nile Wilson and Alice Kinsella Win Gold for England at 2018 Gold Cost

This year’s Commonwealth Games brought Nile Wilson a lot of success. Leeds-born Nile won three gold medals at this international multi-sport event. Up until now, Wilson was an Olympic bronze medallist. On April 7th, 22-year-old artistic gymnast won three gold medals for England.

At the previous Commonwealth games that took place in Glasgow in 2014, Wilson won the men’s artistic all-around gold medal. He decided to repeat the same success this year. The same happened with the horizontal bar gold medals, which Wilson won both at the previous and at this year’s Commonwealth Games.

What’s different this year is that Nile earned England the men’s artistic team all-around gold medal, as well as the individual all-around gold. As opposed to the success from this year, England walked away with the bronze medal in 2014. Wilson also won silver medals on the parallel bars and rings at the 2018 Gold Coast.

Commenting on his overall performance, Nile said, “I'm just happy to get through the last two days and do amazing gymnastics once again. It's been an amazing week for Team England. We absolutely smashed it.”

Nile is not the only one who’s been making England shine with gold medals. 17-year-old Alice Kinsella won the gold medal in the beam finals. This is the first significant win for Kinsella. Apart from the gold medal, Kinsella also won the women’s team silver and all-around bronze. 2018 was indeed successful for the Essex athlete. She started the year with the bronze at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. Now she can add three more medals to her record after her excellent performance at the 2018 Gold Coast.

Right now, England is the second nation with the highest number of medals, 74. The host, Australia is leading with 130 medals. However, the artistic gymnastics competition is where England ranks first with 16 medals, while Canada and Australia have 11 and seven respectively.

Premier betting sites in the UK offer a wide variety betting markets for this competition, and the Commonwealth Games are not yet over. If you’re a big sports fan, you’ll have more than enough options to choose from.
