Liverpool vs Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League Finals

On April 25th, we had a chance to watch Liverpool dominate at Anfield as they showed no mercy to Roma. The first semi-final leg tie ended with Liverpool’s convincing triumph over Roma 5-2. On May 2nd, Liverpool and Roma had another clash that was to determine one of the Champions League finalists.

Wednesday’s match saw the incredible play from Eusebio Di Francesco’s men. However, despite all of their efforts, Roma will not feature in the 2018 Champions League finals.

Roma learned a lesson or two from the previous game with Liverpool. They started the match with a strong attack on the Reds net. One minute into the game, Edin Dzeko attempted to score the first goal for Roma. However, Liverpool was prepared and managed to stuff Roma’s attempt.

Eight minutes later, Reds Sadio Mane scored the first goal of the game in the ninth minute. The situation soon changed, and the two teams were tied after James Milner netted the ball in his own goal. Even after these quick goals, the game didn’t lose on its intensity. In the 25th minute of the match, Georginio Wijnaldum managed to put Liverpool in charge of the game once again and secured a 2-1 lead for the Reds.

The result remained the same until the end of the first half. However, in the 52nd minute of the tie, Edin Dzeko scored the second goal for Roma, or the first one if we don’t count Milner’s own goal.

The game continued with a series of attacks and fouls from both sides. The last ten minutes of the match were nail-biters. Roma’s Radja Nainggolan hit the Liverpool’s net in the 86th minute of the game. He repeated that success in the 90th minute of the match after converting the penalty. The final score – Roma 4 Liverpool 2.

Despite losing the game, Liverpool entered the Champions League finals thanks to the previous leg win. We will see Klopp’s men clashing with Real Madrid on May 26th. Best betting sites in the UK favour Real Madrid to win the 2018 Champions League finals, but Reds have managed to prove everyone wrong countless times before. Maybe they will do it on May 26th in Kiev as well.
