Cristiano Ronaldo Move from Real Madrid to Juventus for £99.2m

Juventus released the news about Ronaldo’s arrival at the club just a few hours ago. Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, and today, the 33-year-old forward signed a contract with his new club. Ronaldo will play for Juventus until June 30, 2022.

The best Portuguese player of all times asked Real Madrid to leave the club after spending nine years with Los Blancos. As Ronaldo explained, he wants to start a new chapter in his career. “I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this fanbase and for this city. I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received,” said Ronaldo in an open letter to Real Madrid fans.

Ronaldo’s performance at Real Madrid

The football player won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award five times. Together with Lionel Messi, Ronaldo holds a record number of Ballon d’Or awards. He won the Champions League trophy four times with Real Madrid. Among other rewards and achievements, Ronaldo is also Real Madrid’s top scorer with 451 goals during 438 games.

So why did Juventus sign Ronaldo?

While Juventus certainly have more than one reason for signing Ronaldo, one thing is for sure. With Ronaldo on their side, Juventus will have more chances than ever of lifting the Champions League trophy. Namely, the club has reached the competition’s final twice since 2014. Ronaldo was the one who kicked them out of the competition once. Now that the club has moved the threat out of the way, Juventus might win the Champions League after a 23-year-long wait.

Transfer talks

Real Madrid published an official statement thanking Ronaldo for everything he’s done for the club. “Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has made this one of the most brilliant times in the history of our club.”

However, ahead of Real Madrid is a new task and that is to fill in Ronaldo’s position. Best betting sites in the UK narrowed down their choices to two contenders – Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. We’ll see who’ll be the Real Madrid’s final choice soon.
