Yesterday, we had a chance to watch an exciting game between Chelsea and Arsenal. Judging by the Blues’ excellent play at the start of the tie, it seemed Chelsea would win the match. Maurizio Sarri’s men took the lead early in the game, but Arsenal made a comeback minutes before the end of stoppage time and defeated the Blues on penalties.
Both clubs were eager to take the lead from the very beginning of the game. After only four minutes, Chelsea started attacking Arsenal’s net which saw Cesc Fabregas miss the target. However, Antonio Rudiger made sure Chelsea got the lead by netting the ball in the fifth minute of the game.
Chelsea didn’t take their lead for granted, and Sarri’s men continued to cause a headache to Arsenal Petr Cech. Alvaro Morata also had a chance to score for the Blues, not allowing Arsenal to get out of defensive play.
The Gunners, who were the underdogs on best UK betting apps, had their first goal opportunity after nearly half an hour. Once they finally approached Chelsea’s net, Unai Emery’s men started testing Arsenal’s goalkeeper, but none of the shots ended in the net. We saw fantastic goalkeeping on both sides.
Then, just before the end of stoppage time, Alexandre Lacazette levelled the game at 1-1. After that, the game entered the shootout stage. The penalties started with Drinkwater’s kick. He kicked the ball through Cech's gloves. Next was Lacazette who also scored. After that, we saw both Tammy Abraham’s and Reiss Nelson’s shots ending in the net. Moses and Guendouzi made it 3-3. Emerson and Niles levelled at 4-4. Piazon and Ozil found the net as well.
The deciding moment of the game was when Iwobi netted the ball, and unfortunately for Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek missed his penalty kick. What a game!
