Amir Khan Faces Samuel Vargas in His Second Bout after the Comeback

Amir Khan is getting ready for a big fight while having another one in the works. He returned recently after a two-year absence but has big plans for the future. As most of you know, the King was in the rut after Saul Alvarez knocked him out, but he hopes 2018 will be his year.

Khan returned to the ring in April, when he fought Phil lo Greco. He did marvellously in that fight, dropping Greco in only 40 seconds. This gave him quite a confidence boost, and the British fighter is ready to face his next opponent, Samuel Vargas.

But he’s not stopping there. The former welterweight champion is looking to get to the top again. If he wins the fight against Vargas, Khan could get a shot at Manny Pacquiao. The two were supposed to meet two years ago in the ring, but the bout was cancelled. However, if Amir manages to overcome Vargas, Pacquiao might even accept the fight with the former welter champ.

Be that as it may, Samuel Vargas is not easy pickings, and Khan very much acknowledges that. He said that he won’t look ahead of the Canadian-Colombian, a mistake he made before. Vargas clashed with both Danny Garcia and Errol Spence Jr, who have previously knocked out Khan and his rival, Kell Brook. However, Vargas lost to those two, which gives Amir enough confidence that he’ll win this bout.

All in all, it’s going to be interesting next few months for Khan. The Vargas fight is coming up in August, with Kell Brooks and Pacquiao waiting for him after that. As you can imagine, the former champ is a heavy favourite on UK betting apps, but that won’t mean a thing once they enter the ring.
